I believe in empowering patients to help optimise their healthcare. I enjoy the full spectrum of family medicine and have special interests in the use of health screening, diagnostic tests and medical innovation.
I qualified from Imperial College in 2002, having gained a BSc in Cardiovascular Medicine and undertaken my elective training at Harvard Medical School. I trained in hospital medicine and completed my MRCP (Membership of the College of Physicians) examinations. Following this, I undertook GP training and gained distinction in the Royal College of General Practitioner’s examinations.
I have 15 years of experience as a GP, with previous experience of working as an NHS partner in a busy practice in London. I have worked in digital health and have a keen interest in innovation, for which I was awarded the ‘Women in Entrepreneurship Award’ by Innovate U.K.
I trained in Motivational Interviewing, Positive Psychology and NLP which have helped me to develop my communication skills with my patients.
I am passionate about medical education, having completed a Masters in Clinical Education. Using these skills, I worked with the RCGP as a Champion in Perinatal Health, was a GP tutor with Health Education England and Champion in Physical Activity with Public Health England. I have written a number of books for medical students and GP trainees.
